Willett Family Estate Cask Strength 4 Year Rye Whiskey

Good rye profile very indicative of willett a little higher proof than the Last bottling but just as enjoyable!

Very smooth. At 108 proof there is no heat and very smooth. It tends to be on the sweet side. There was a lot of cherry up front. If you prefer a traditional rye this may not be the one for you. But if you are looking for a nice pour I would recommend it

Nose: green apple/sweetness. I have no clue why but this is not what I got when I first tried it. Some grass.... on the sweet side

Palate: a really pleasant grassy note starts it off and it lingers, along with some spice.. The grass is nice but its like it has this added sweetness to it, which is nice. I would say this is decently wet for a whiskey and it doesn't leave you immediately. Some oak does appear later but it's not over oaked. As it sits and I sip it, the starting notes/transition are not always the same order, which I find rather unique about it.

Finish: wet, lingers some what, definitely not thin by any means. Coats the mouth some.

This is only 4 years but it tastes amazing. I had this at a restaurant and had to buy a bottle.
I get baking spices, some sweetness and overall reminds me of fall. Definitely stock up and will always have on hand.

willet has done it yet again. very drinkable rye. drinks like a ten year rye but in fact a four year. drinks like bourbon but has the sharpest of the expected ryes. It is a daily sipper and one to stock on the shelf, and simple and a looker of a bottle.

This is the 3rd Willett bottle I've tried (Rowan's Creek Noah's Mill being the others) and by far my favorite. It has that defining Willett spice but its more back burnered and refined in this bottle vs the other two. Its got the full range of speculoos spice flavors on the tongue with a soft honey finish and is without question my favorite rye to date

I honestly love to enjoy it with a drop of water neat

Even at cask strength, always drinks like something with a much lower proof. Had never been a fan of ryes until I tried this.

We have been looking to snag one of these for awhile. It has been hard to find until now just secured a bottle. Bitters and bottles comes through again!

Im not a great fan of rye but i still enjoy them but not as much compared to other bourbon in the same price range.

This is a great rye whiskey so many beautiful flavors from nose to the finish. I also blended a bit with some pure Kentucky and wasn’t disappointed
