Ocho Single Estate 2018 El Bajio Anejo Tequila

1 review
One of the few tequilas still made slowly in the old fashioned way, Tequila Ocho is a spirit which accentuates that which is exclusive to tequila, the agave flavor. Ocho is the first tequila to designate both the year it was produced and the precise field from which the family grown agaves were sourced. Each batch comes from a different field or rancho contributing distinctive characteristics of that place.

El Bajío is located in Jesus María municipality, around 7km east of Jesus María town at 2,170 to 2,175 meters elevation, with gentle slopes north to south. The name refers to land located in the lower part of a valley. The agave harvested for this production was planted in 2012 & 2013 when the plants were one year old, therefore the agave was 6 & 7 years old at harvest and had an average weight of 20kgs with 27% sugar content.

Aromas of green apple, red fruits, and grapes. Sweet and a little bit acidic. Thyme and dried “ancho” pepper. On the palate dried “ancho”pepper, not spicy. Thyme and cinnamon. Slightly salty and mineral. Bottled at 40% abv.
