Hampden Estate 1753 Single Jamaican Rum
A true piece of Jamaican history in a bottle, Hampden Estate 1753 celebrates one of the island’s oldest distilleries, founded in 1753 and renowned for its unmistakable high-ester style. This single estate rum is produced with time-honored methods—long, natural fermentation, copper pot distillation, and tropical aging—that give Hampden its legendary depth and intensity. This new addition to the regular Hampden lineup is a high ester, 3 year aged (in ex-bourbon) pot still rum. It is made of the distillery's HLCF marque, with an ester count of 476.9 gr/hlpa, the same recipe used for the brand's beloved Rum Fire Overproof.
On the nose, it bursts with vibrant aromas of overripe tropical fruit, banana, and pineapple, balanced by notes of molasses, spice, and a hint of funk that rum enthusiasts prize. The palate is bold and expressive, revealing layers of caramelized fruit, citrus zest, vanilla, and warming oak, carried by a rich, oily texture. The finish is long and complex, with lingering fruit, spice, and earthy undertones that showcase Hampden’s signature character.
Unadulterated and crafted without added sugar or coloring, Hampden Estate 1753 is a rum of authenticity and tradition—perfect for sipping neat, exploring with a drop of water, or as a statement in classic rum cocktails.
