Bardstown "Pretty Fly for a Rye Guy" Single Barrel Finish Rye Whiskey

You know it's kinda hard just to get along today. Liquor distribution warehouses are very large and many cases look alike or are identical. Mistakes are bound to happen. Usually this means bad news for your humble local spirits shop. But every once in a while, the deity of chaos smiles upon us. In this instance, we received a single case of someone else's private barrel selection of the fantastic Bardstown Bourbon Company rye whiskey. If you like Bardstown's Origin Rye, this distribution error has provided a unique chance to try it uncut and unfiltered. While we aren't exactly sure how it tastes, we've never been disappointed by Bardstown.

Here's what we do know. This barrel was distilled from a mash of 95% rye and 5% malted barley and aged in new American oak on Floor 1 of Rickhouse A. After at least six years, the rye was finished in a barrel made of both toasted cherrywood and toasted American oak staves. After finishing, the rye was bottled without chill filtration at a cask strength of 120.8 proof. Give it to me, baby!
