This is the original 1934 recipe, famous for its use as a glass rinse in the Sazerac cocktail. A deep greenish brown, flavor is a deep and rich licorice character, not overly sweet and surprisingly unboozy despite being 100 proof.

I bought this as a gift and have not tried it
The best pastis to use in a sazerac if you don't have a high-end absinthe. It tastes great on its own as well, having that anise flavor like Pernod or Ricard but with less of the sweetness and a good amount of herbal complexity. Will definitely purchase again once my bottle runs out.

This is Dr. Funks secret ingredient. Believe me, power liqueur that pairs perfectly with strong Jamaican Rum. Outstanding!
Had our first Sazarac cocktail in New Orleans this month. Upon returning to California, we had to buy Sazarac whiskey and Herbsaint to recreate the delightful experience. Perfect!
