Knob Creek 10 Year Rye Whiskey

Distilled from Beam's standard, high-corn rye mash bill, this new addition to Knob Creek's standard line is aged for at least 10 years before bottling at 100 proof.  The nose presents scents of brown butter and French vanilla backed by rye spice, sweet mint, and leathery oak.  Sipping reveals a viscous mouthfeel with flavors of dark cherries, vanilla, and cola before turning to cinnamon, nutmeg, and earthy oak.  The finish leaves a lovely mocha flavor on the tongue where it's joined by cinnamon and the rich cherry and leathery oak that only comes from fine ageing.  Knob Creek 10 Year Rye is a significant step up from the great 7 flagship release, and a beautiful Kentucky (sweeter) style rye whiskey.
