Mosswood Spirits is a Berkeley, CA blender and bottler named for the East Bay's Mosswood Park. The Espresso Barrel Whiskey begins with an undisclosed sourced whiskey which undergoes finishing in a barrel that has been seasoned with cold brew coffee from Bicycle Coffee Company. The nose has scents of coffee, chocolate, fruit, and oak. The palate features fruity coffee, chocolate, oak, and a touch of spice with a finish that lingers on coffee and chocolate.
- Perfect for coffee cocktails, it's pretty tasty on its own!

I stumbled upon this while looking for a replacement for Jameson's limited edition Cold Brew Whiskey in chocolate/coffee-themed old fashioned. To no one's surprise, this whiskey absolutely blew Jameson out of the water. Not only is it perfect for coffee cocktails, it's pretty damn tasty on its own!
I love whiskey and I love coffee! Not going to lie that I have read mixed reviews and was hesitant. I finally gave in and I am so glad I did. There will definitely be more bottles of this in my future. Give it a shot but don’t take the whole stock away from me!
I'm not a whiskey connoisseur, so I'll only comment on how great this tastes in an espresso old fashioned (cold brew coffee, chocolate bitters, maple syrup, and this whiskey).
This is by far my favorite glass of interesting whisky. While the flavor does vary pretty significantly between batches it is always a crowd pleaser. The batch I purchased on 11/2 was by far the best yet!
