New Riff Balboa Rye Whiskey

One of New Riff's most popular special releases, Balboa Rye is distilled from the heritage Balboa rye varietal which is grown exclusively for New Riff by the Fogg Family Farm in Indiana. After distilling a mash of 95% Balboa rye and 5% malted (standard) rye, the whiskey ages for four years before bottling in bond without chill filtration at 100 proof. The nose features scents of rye bread, red fruit, clove, cinnamon, and toasted oak. The palate offers flavors of citrus, raisin, rye bread, clove, and toasted oak. The finish is long and complex, weaving between allspice, cinnamon, clove, tobacco, graham cracker, pepper, mint, and oak.
