Nikka From the Barrel Whisky

This Whisky is my fav Japanese Whisky I have found. Highly recommend if you’ve never tried. Love it!!

Drank it neat and also made a highball. Both were amazing. Definitely would grab again. The store was also awesome- especially getting greeted by the big pupper!

Such a great company. Whiskey came amazingly well packaged. Purchased for my husband as a gift and he loved the whiskey!

Sweet and a little smokey really really good

Nikka Whisky From the Bottle is one of those whiskies that can pull you in. It can pull you into a long love affair with whisky, pull you into further exploration of Japanese whisky and/or the magic of blended whisk{e}y.
The first thing that draws me in is the lovely smoke that it offers up with not only the first whiff but the first sip as well. There is a lovely maltiness, a hint of honey as well as caramel to balance out that carries throughout. It is lovely stuff!
While this isn't 100% made in Japanese whisky, it is an amazing showcase of what magic a world class blender can create with whiskies from other parts of the world.

Ever since Japan tightened their standards on what constitutes "Japanese Whisky", many popular staples have fallen off the designation. This is one of them. Nonetheless, this is still a sparkling example of a fine Scotch. Coming in strong at 51.4% ABV, this popular whisky does not fail to deliver. Personally, it tastes like a stronger Hibiki Harmony, and even evokes a bit of smokiness at the tail end. IF you can find one of these, be sure to sip it, not shoot it. This is my go-to.
