Oola Waitsburg Single Barrel #2014-24 Bourbon

Distilled in 2014 from a four grain mash bill featuring corn, wheat, rye, and malted barley, Barrel #2014-53-24 was aged for ten years in a full-size 53 gallon charred oak barrel before bottling without chill filtration at 116 proof. The nose features malted chocolate balls, creamy caramel, and French vanilla with oak and some baking spices in the background. On the palate, one gets the sense of a root beer float with flavors of malted chocolate, French vanilla ice cream, root beer, caramel and earthy oak. The vanilla root beer flavor extends through the finish, rounded out by earthy oak and dark chocolate.
