Slane Triple Casked Irish Whiskey

This Irish whiskey is a triple-casked whiskey aged in virgin oak, ex-American whiskey barrels, and former Oloroso sherry butts. The whiskey is comprised of malt and grain whiskeys. The virgin casks contribute flavors of toasted oak and vanilla. The seasoned barrels from Tennessee Whiskey and Bourbon add flavors of caramel, plum, banana, and butterscotch. Finally, the sherry casks provide raisin and spice.

Sweet and rather fresh with pastries, buttery vanilla, sweet spices and floral notes. While the nose definitely screams "Irish Whiskey!", the palate is richer and more robust showing notes of burnt caramel, honey, pot-still spices and bay leaf, with more spices coming through on the finish.
