One of the most beloved rums in the mixology and Tiki communities, Smith & Cross is revered for bringing back the funky, high-hogo style of rum that had been sadly absent for many years. Distilled at the Hampden distillery in Jamaica, it’s a blend of two styles of pot-stilled rum, Plummer and Wedderburn, which fall at different points on the funkiness scale.
The nose of this highly aromatic rum leads with overripe banana, followed by leather, spice, and molasses. Sipping yields additional fruity esters and a touch of sweetness, but without the viscosity of added sugar. The finish is more tobacco, spice, and citrusy grapefruit. At 114 proof, it has a moderate burn, and it is not promoted as sipping rum. However, if you can’t get enough hogo in your life, carry on and sip away.

Smith and Cross answers the call if you love Tiki and you love any to have something with Ester. Lightly aged but with that funky punch it will serve you well in a mix. Kevin Crossmans Ultimate Mai Tai blends demands to use this rum.

Great balance. I have been drinking Doctor Bird for my Jamaican "funk" but my son recommended this. I like it more because it's not quite as funky but still has that Jamaican vibe. I thought it was very balanced and flavorful. My first Mai Tai was outstanding. If you are looking for a versatile Jamaican rum you may want to try this

Embarrassed to say how quickly we go through this rum, but it's SO good. Great in a mai tai and any cocktail that uses banana liqueur! Also BB has the best price I've seen for it.
Such a massive rum. Smells insane, tastes delicious. Lots of fun to do split base cocktails with this. You only need a half ounce or so to make things very funky, but still approachable. Or, if you really want to get wild, skip the split base and go 100% Smith Cross. Makes for a big, meaty, delicious drink.
Great rum for tiki cocktails and incredible for Jamaican negronis
