The first Indian sugarcane rum on the market, Camikara translates from Sanskrit to "liquid gold". Made from local sugarcane grown in Indri, India which was fermented and distilled at the Picadilly Distillery, then aged for a whole 12 years in ex-Bourbon casks, losing 94.4% of it's volume along the way to evaporation, or the "angel's share". In the end, it was bottled as a limited release at 50% abv without any additives - a completely natural rum.
On thew nose, notes of honey, toffee, ginger, raisin, leather, and citrus peel. The palate follows with bananas, fig, orange zest, slightly bitter dark chocolate, and charred oak. A really fantastic sipper - a welcome arrival out of left field.
