Hearkening back to the Decadence movement in art and architecture (think Oscar Wilde), the Art and Decadence Blend from Compass Box was designed to be a dessert-like indulgence of a whisky. Primarily built around single malt from the Balmenach Distillery aged in Marsala, Madeira, and Sauternes casks, the blend certainly delivers on its sweet promise. The nose presents scents of apple, sweet wine, custard, banana, and licorice. The palate brings sweet flavors of golden raisins, apricot, apple, and vanilla before a finish of dark chocolate and sweet oak.
