This single barrel of Bourbon is bottled under the strict rules of the Bottled-in-Bond Act, which was essentially America’s first consumer protection law and guarantee of quality. From Chicago's FEW spirits (well actually Evanston, Illinois, but hey), this is made from their classic mash bill of 70 percent corn, 20 percent rye, and 10 percent malted barley. Aged for just under 5 years in new Minnesota oak barrels, we love it for its elevated classic profile, capturing what we love about the mainstream bourbon flavors with a more expressive grain character. On the nose you get a slightly smoked vanilla, burnt brown sugar, and a hint of maple syrup. The palate brings out the nuts, with oily walnut, almond paste, this is literally chock full o' nuts, along with caramel and hints of sour cherry. Bottled at 50% abv.
